I always found Alan to be a bit of a dick, way too full of himself and not very understanding of his wife. Now all I have to do it wait, and also gird myself - as much as I enjoy playing Alan Wake, I’m not a huge fan of the man himself. I can already feel the rumble accompanying Alan frying some dudes with his flashlight before blasting them back to hell with his trusty revolver. Now I can dive back in with style, hopefully with clever little DualSense haptic bells and whistles to boot. I started a playthrough earlier this year on my Xbox One S (though it was the Xbox 360 original), and I’m glad I didn’t have time to get too far into it. I am really looking forward to the prospect of playing Alan Wake again on my new gaming rig. And even if he did, like most of the things he writes about, it probably would’ve only caused more problems, so I suppose it’s best he didn’t put his byline on this one. And the fact that Remedy was able to keep the existence of this remaster (mostly) under wraps, at least long enough to reveal it with an around-the-corner release date, I would say not even Alan himself could’ve written a more perfect scenario. It’s a really grim and spooky Christmas, so maybe it’s more like Halloween is coming out early? I don’t know, I’m still ironing out the kinks in this analogy.īut regardless of mixed metaphors and artificially assembled analogies, this price point is exactly where I like my remasters to sit that $30 sweet spot just feels right.
